Combination Classes
Pre-School Combination
Students will learn building blocks of ballet and tap technique. They will become familiar with terminology, musicality and performance. We use games to focus on movement, balance, rhythm, coordination, learning colors/shapes/numbers, following directions, classroom manners, independence and social skills. Students also receive instruction in beginner tumbling to develop balance and coordination, while working on gross and fine motor skills. Class length 45 minutes.
Advanced Combination Level K-1
Designed for students in Kindergarten and First grades. This class includes ballet, tap and introduction to pre-jazz discipline in place of tumbling (which is offered in pre-school). Basic vocabulary, terminology and body positions will be taught and reinforced through barre work and center floor exercises. Extended development on lessons learned in Pre-School Combination . Class length is one hour.
Advanced Combination Level 2-3
Designed for students in second or third grades. This class includes ballet, tap and jazz in a combination. Vocabulary,terminology and body positions will be taught and reinforced through barre work and center floor exercises. Extended development on lessons learned in Advanced Combination Level K-1 class and gently start preparing the students for a faster moving class with emphasis on progressing to the next level. Class length is one hour.
Advanced Combination Level 3-4-5
Designed for students in third, fourth and fifth grade. This is an 90 minute class including ballet, tap and jazz in a combination. A more disciplined class to start preparing them for individual classes in each area of dance or competition group. Students in this class should display a more mature and disciplined attitude toward dance, therefore students in third grade must be accepted into this class. Vocabulary, terminology and body positions will be taught and reinforced through barre work and center floor exercises. Extended development on lessons learned in Advanced Combination Level 2-3 with emphasis on progressing to the next level.
Advanced Combination Level 4-5
Designed for students in the fourth or fifth grades. This is a 90 minute class which includes ballet, tap and jazz in combination. A more disciplined class to start preparing students for a separate class or competition group. Students should display a more mature and disciplined attitude toward dance, therefore students in 3rd grade must be accepted into this class. Vocabulary, terminology and body positions will be taught and reinforced through barre work and center floor exercises. Extended development on lessons learned in Advanced Combination Level 3-4-5 with emphasis on progressing to the next level.
Advanced Combination Level 5-6
Designed for students in the fifth and sixth grades. This is a 90 minute class which includes ballet, tap and jazz in combination. This class is a ore disciplined class to start preparation for individual classes in ballet, tap, jazz and hip-hop. Students in this class should display a mature and disciplined attitude toward dance. Students in 5th grade must be accepted into this class. Students should have knowledge of vocabulary, terminology and body positions. These will be reinforced through barre work and center floor exercises. Extended development on lessons learned in Advanced Combination Level 4-5 with emphasis on progressing to the next level.
